The Kingsmen organization held their one-year anniversary celebrations on Sunday at the Kwa-Thema South African Police Service (SAPS) Station in Phomolo.
They celebrated their anniversary by hosting a Mother’s Day lunch. In attendance was the Kwa Thema SAPS Station Commander Colonel Mareketle Thobejane, the Sector 1 manager Sergeant Percy Mabanga, Social Crime Prevention Coordinator Constable Prudence Malobola, and a ward councilor.
The Station Commander addressed the community about domestic violence, drugs, and other crimes that affect the community of Kwa Thema. She further encouraged the community to work together with the police to fight against crime and thanked the organizers of the event and indicated that such initiatives serve as a good platform to engage and find amicable ways to eliminate crime in the community.
The event saw women from the community being spoiled with a three-course meal.
