The City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality invites residents of Kwa-Thema and surrounding areas to an open community dialogue which will be held at Kwa-Thema Family Skills Centre on Thursday 29 November, 2018.

Speaking to KwaTsaduza Times, Mr Wiseman Letsapa who is a social worker dealing with women and children in this area said that it is vital for them to host such events especially because there’s a high rate of violence against women and children in South Africa. “When we open our newspapers or television these days, we always see stories of violence so we want to talk about this issue so that we can find a solution and see how we can eradicate violence against women and children,” he says.

Mr Letsapa says that this dialogue is a collaboration of his office and that of his colleague who implements the youth and men programme. He says that the dialogue will involve everyone because the issue of women and children abuse is a societal problem and affects most families in our communities. The dialogue will start at 10H00 a.m. and end at 13H00 p.m.
